Vibe Coding Hackathon: One Day That Changed the Future of App Development. No Coding Skills Required

Port7, Prague – June 21, 2025
One word. Vibe. One event. Hackathon. And one mission: to show that the future of app development isn’t just for those who can code perfectly. The very first vibe coding hackathon in the Czech Republic took place in Holešovice — and it showed what the startup world can look like when AI, creativity, and the right community come together.

The mind behind it: Adam Zvada

Adam Zvada, founder of the SteerCode tool and an alumnus of the legendary Y Combinator, teamed up with Scott.Weber Workspace to create a space that not only looked like a futuristic laboratory but truly became one.

“I started my first startup, Fuzee, thanks to a hackathon. If we want to see more companies founded in the Czech Republic, hackathons are the way forward. I always wanted to organize one because building a startup is all about experimenting. With SteerCode, I saw an opportunity to merge the launch of our project with creating a hackathon for the Czech startup community,” explains Adam Zvada.
“The biggest shift I see is in how development teams operate. Developers shouldn’t write code alone anymore (SteerCode itself is entirely written using AI); everything should be written by AI. Developers should act as reviewers and critics. They no longer have to worry about implementation details — they let AI write the code and then shape it into what feels right.”

What is vibe coding — and why should you care?

Imagine that instead of lengthy coding, you simply describe what you want — and AI just does it. Vibe coding is a development approach where AI takes over the role of the developer, and you become the visionary who formulates ideas and concepts.

Creating mobile apps, websites, or even games is suddenly possible for anyone. Even for those who have never touched Python, JavaScript, or C++.

SteerCode focuses primarily on creating mobile apps with AI. Even though the product has only been available for a few weeks and is still in beta, we see that many users spend up to an hour a day in the app. Soon, we’ll be the first mobile app that can not only build apps but also distribute them without the need for the App Store. I’m excited to see how the market reacts. Alongside that, we want to continue organizing hackathons, both in-person and online. This event was a test to see if it would work — and it worked amazingly.”

An event for everyone

The hackathon was open to everyone — from seasoned developers and startup founders to designers and those who just came to soak in the vibe. Among the vibe coders were also lawyers and high school students, who experienced in one day what usually takes 100 days in a startup.

“Today’s world is open to anyone eager to create. Projects like SteerCode allow people to break into industries they might have never dared to enter before. App development today is primarily about creativity and ideas — AI helps with the rest. There’s a huge opportunity on the market for apps by women and for women. Whether it’s styling apps, skin care helpers, or sophisticated menstrual cycle trackers — now is the perfect time to jump in,” shares Karolína Bulisová, who also moderated the event.

A day full of inspiration

Participants enjoyed 1:1 consultations with AI development experts, talks from leaders of the Czech startup scene (including Karel Zheng from KAYA VC and Jenda Tovarys from Better Stack), competed for valuable prizes, and spent the evening networking.

When the space speaks for itself

The entire event took place at Scott.Weber Port7, a modern hub designed for the future of work. In addition to excellent tech infrastructure, it offered an inspiring atmosphere — a DJ, casual networking, an amazing terrace, and most importantly, people who came to exchange more than just LinkedIn connections. The “vibe” didn’t stop at the name.

100 days of startup life in one day

The hackathon showed that software development and the startup mindset are open to everyone. That tools like SteerCode can lower the barrier to entry to almost zero. And that when such an event happens in an environment that supports growth, sharing, and community — something much bigger than just a hackathon is born.

“The atmosphere at the hackathon was amazing — friendly and incredibly creative. It was inspiring to watch diverse groups of people working on ambitious projects. I think everyone appreciated the program, which, besides actual project development, included talks. The environment at Scott.Weber Workspace played a huge role as well — and in the summer weather, the terrace became the perfect place to network and connect at the end,” concludes Karolína.
